The Balkan field (Croatia, Serbia, Kosovo, Slovenia, North Macedonia, and Montenegro) is one of the least reached areas in Europe, with only around 1% of the population who have a personal relationship with Jesus. There are a few small teams and workers scattered throughout. We are looking for someone to join us either on the field, or remotely to help us develop a communications presence and tell stories from the field.
The position involves producing insightful and engaging content of ministry, culture and people that will be used in print and online publications. The writer will accurately and creatively document how God is working through OM, while encouraging audience engagement with OM through praying for, giving to, or joining missions. OM journalists share stories of God’s work through OM that align with OM’s writing guidelines in a culturally sensitive way. Additionally, participation in local ministry and team life may also be aspects of your role.
Key responsibilities and attributes
• Constant communication with our teams for updates, new stories and photos
• Story writing and journalistic skills
• Create stories with updates from our teams, following in line with OM’s branding and writing policies
• Share stories through OM channels, and other channels and appropriate news outlets
• Develop a website in conjunction with our field leader
