MediaWorks equips local ministries around the globe with relevant print and digital media that helps them share the gospel and strengthen believers in their communities.
Simon is part of the MediaWorks team, using his gift in software development to create LightNet, an open-source solution. LightNet enables ministries to easily run their own digital media libraries, distributing resources where they’re most needed.
As our new software developer, you will join LightNet colleagues, Simon and Jamie, in this mission — advancing LightNet, contributing to the open-source community, and helping ministries worldwide launch and maintain their media libraries. In doing so, you will be part of communicating God’s love to least-reached people groups.
What you will do:
• Develop and enhance LightNet (web-stack: Astro, React, Tailwind CSS, TypeScript)
• Configure and optimise our cloud infrastructure (Cloudflare Pages) and CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions)
• Write automated tests (Vitest, Playwright) and contribute to code quality and stability
• Partner with an international, hybrid team — working with ministries in multiple time zones
• Collaborate closely with media teams, designers and local partners to ensure deliverables work in real-world, cross-cultural settings
