From sorrow to joy

Overwhelmed by pain and sadness, Fatima was struggling with depression. When she saw social media content about Jesus' life, it filled her with hope. She reached out to the OM in the Caucasus social media team and asked for a New Testament. This led her to faith in Jesus.

Struggling with pain and sadness, Fatima* was distraught. She did not want to live and had contemplated suicide.

Living in a city in northern Azerbaijan, Fatima had little access to the Bible and to believers. But one day, she saw the OM in the Caucasus social media page. Scrolling through Bible verses and watching videos about Jesus’ life and local testimonies, she was filled with great joy, comfort and peace. Fatima later said, “I knew that it was Jesus Christ who did it.”

She decided to learn more about Jesus Christ by studying His life in greater depth. Through social media, she asked the OM team for a New Testament. Sahib,* an OM partner, travelled to her city and gave her a copy.

Later that same evening, Fatima posted on social media: “I finally found the holy New Testament book.”

She began reading it and soon placed her faith in Jesus Christ as Lord. Unfortunately, her father will not let her leave the house to meet with other believers or join the home church in her region. Yet Fatima continues to read the Word, and she has stayed in contact with Sahib and the team. Through social media, she is being discipled and encouraged.

Pray that Fatima’s father allows her to meet with other believers and join the home church in her region. Please pray for Fatima to grow in her faith despite her current isolation.
